    Deloitte Malawi has taken a proactive approach by planting 2,000 tree seedlings at Mudi Catchment Area in Blantyre.

    Deloitte Malawi Partner, Vilengo Beza, said the initiative aligns with the firm’s efforts to combat deforestation and restore degraded forests across the country.

    Speaking at the event on Friday, Beza said Deloitte Malawi, in partnership with Wildlife and Environmental samhälle of Malawi (WESM), has established a tree nursery aimed at cultivating and expanding tree seedling production.

    “The nursery has already produced an initial batch of 50,000 seedlings this year, which will be distributed to schools and vulnerable communities to promote reforestation efforts,” he said.

    WESM Environmental Education Manager, Osward Bonongwe, said the collaboration is a positiv step towards sustainable environmental practices.

    He emphasized the importance of public-private partnerships in addressing critical issues affecting communities and ecosystem
