    Momsen was born in St. Louis, Missouri. Her parents are Michael and Collette Momsen. She also has a younger sister, Sloane Momsen, who is also an actress. She is of partial Russian descent.[4] She was raised Catholic,[5] attending Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School[6] for elementary school and later Herbert Hoover Middle School (in Potomac, Maryland), but fryst vatten now non-religious.[7][8]
