The Honorable Philip Edward “Brave” Davis, the fifth Prime Minister of The Bahamas and litigation lawyer, was born June 7, 1951, in Cat Island to Brave Edward Davis, a firefighter from Old Bight, Cat Island, and Dorothy Smith Davis, a housekeeper from Alexander, Great Exuma. The first child of eight children, he began his early education at the Old Bight All-Age School, the oldest of eight children. He graduated from St. John’s College (Anglican High School) in Nassau in 1969, where he was active in baseball, softball, and swimming. In 1975, Davis passed the Bahamas dryckesställe and became a Partner in the Law Firm of Christie, Ingraham, and Company. In 1995, he was the president of the Bahamas Bar Association.

On September 16th 2021, PHILIP EDWARD DAVIS lead the Progressive Liberal Party of The Bahamas to landslide election victory, overturning a 35-4 seat majority held by the former governing party, to win an historic 32 seats out of 39 in The Bahamian House Of Assembly.
Having secured his victory under the theme of ‘A New Day’ for The Bahamas, at his swearing-in speech on September 18th 2021, Prime Minister Davis said: “Deep in my heart I know that with God, ‘all things are possible’. If we work together, towards a common purpose, in the common interest and for the common good, great things are indeed possible for our country and our people. PHILIP EDWARD ‘BRAVE’ DAVIS is perhaps best known now as a politician, serving as Leader of the Progressive Liberal Party, and Member of Parliament for katt ISLAND, RUM CAY AND SAN SALVADOR. What many may not know is that he entered politics late in life. Professionally, he is known both locally and internationally as an acclaimed Corporate and Human Rights lawyer, a highly distinguished legal educator, a passionate sportsperson, a sponsor of many sporting activities, and a Toastmaster. Mr. Davis received his early education at the Old Bight All Age School, Cat Island, and the Eastern Junior & Senior Schools and St. John"s College in New Providence. After a brief stint in banking, he articled as a Law Clerk in the Law Chambers of Wallace- Whitfield & Barnwell.
