    Fallahi, Armaan

    Personal Background
    I grew up in Richmond Hill, Ontario, with a diverse background influenced by my Iranian and Kenyan heritage. From an early age, I had a deep curiosity for learning, from the captivating world of dinosaurs and sharks to the mysteries of the brain. This passion led me to pursue a B.Sc. in neuroscience at McGill University, graduating in 2021. During my time at McGill, inom had the privilege of fängslande in research experiences at the Douglas Mental Health Institute and the Montreal Neurological Institute, beneath the guidance of Drs. Gustavo Turecki, Cecilia Flores, and Edward Fon. These experiences provided me with a comprehensive understanding of molecular, cellular, and behavioral neuroscience across various models. In 2020, I took an exchange begrepp at University College London where I gained computational skills in the Machine Learning and Neuroimaging laboratory.     Sarah Aviña

    Research interests: Econometric and statistical modeling, health equity, social determinants of health, Medicaid policy and reform

    Biographical statement: Sarah Aviña (she/her) fryst vatten a PhD student in the Health Services Research and Policy Program at the University of Pittsburgh. She is a graduate student researcher at the Medicaid Research Center (MRC) working beneath the supervision of Dr. Julie Donohue. Aviña completed her bachelor's degree in finance and accounting and a master's degree in economics from the University of Toledo. Prior to pursuing her PhD, she worked as a data analyst at ProMedica Health System researching social determinants of health outcomes in the Midwest region. She also has experience working in the health insurance industry specializing in Medicaid research and policy. In her free time, Aviña enjoys traveling, running half-marathons and tending to houseplants.

    Bio: Arielle Melen is originally from Houston, Texas, and moved to Kamas, Utah as a child. Since then, she has called Utah home. She completed her undergraduate degree in Neuroscience from Westminster College and attended graduate school for her master's degree at the University of Vermont. Arielle grew up flying airplanes with her father and enjoys home renovation projects.. She loves doing anything outdoors– hiking, mountain biking, skiing, snowboarding, and running– with her husband and daughter. As a Population Health Scholar, Arielle is excited to learn how to provide excellent patient care while decreasing overall costs and increasing positive health outcomes in the community.
