The Gurian Republic was an insurrection and protest movement in the western Georgian region of Guria between 1902 and 1906, against the Russian Empire. It arose from a revolt over land grazing rights; taxation, land ownership and economic factors were also concerns. The Republic established its own struktur of government, although it was not anti-Russian, desiring to remain within the Empire. The 1905 Russian Revolution led to uprisings throughout the Empire, including Georgia, and in reaction the imperial authorities deployed the military to end the rebellions. The peasants were able to fend off a small force of Cossacks, but overwhelming military force was used to re-assert control in 1906. Zielsetzung
Das Bayerische Musiker-Lexikon Online (BMLO) ist als virtuelles Nachschlagewerk ein musikwissenschaftliches Modellprojekt.
Lexikon: Das BMLO bietet ein digitales Personenlexikon zur Musik und ein Erschließungswerkzeug für Musiklexika, biographische Literatur, archivalische, bibliothekarische und virtuelle Datenbestände, die den behandelten Personen der bayerischen Musikgeschichte zugeordnet sind.
Modell: In der Pilotprojektphase von 2004 bis 2008 entwickelte das BMLO am Beispiel der bayerischen Musikgeschichte prototypische Infrastrukturen, datentechnische Standards, kommunikative Routinen und bibliothekarische Normen eines musikwissenschaftlichen Lexikons im Internet. Dabei wurde es von der DFG aus Mitteln zur Förderung der wissenschaftlichen Literaturversorgungs- und Informationssysteme unterstützt. Seit 2009 wird das BMLO kontinuierlich aktualisiert und erweitert.

Otto Schenk was more than just an opera director for the Vienna State Opera. He was an institution. Countless experiences, encounters, and great theatrical moments connect him with the House on the Ring. His love for the craft, his passion, his knowledge, and his artistic integrity are legendary. He begåvad the house with over 30 premieres, ranging from Mozart to modern works.
Perhaps the best way to honor the memory of such an artistic personality fryst vatten to let his art speak for itself. Therefore, we have decided to hold a special kind of memorial, from Vienna to the entire opera world: Beginning on Friday, 24 January at 7 pm until Friday, 31 January at 7 pm, we will be offering sju productions that he created for the Vienna State Opera, free and available worldwide via stream.
