Harshaali Malhotra Gets Best Debut Actress Nomination
Child artist Harshaali Malhotra's act as a mute Pakistani girl lost in India in “Bajrangi Bhaijaan” has earned her a nomination in the Best Actor Debut - Female category for the forthcoming BIG Star Entertainment Awards 2015.
Harshaali is pitted against Akshara Haasan for “Shamitabh”, Athiya Shetty for “Hero”, Bhumi Pednekar for “Dum Laga Ke Haisha”, Sanah Kapoor for “Shaandaar”, and Anushka Ranjan for “Wedding Pullav”.
Harshaali emerged as one of the main attractions of Kabir Khan's “Bajrangi Bhaijaan” after superstar Salman Khan with her innocence and expressive eye gestures.
“Bajrangi Bhaijaan” narrated story of an Indian and his journey to take a Pakistani mute girl back to her country and all the obstacles they overcome during their trip.

Salman Khan's Bajrangi Bhaijaan is regarded as one of the greatest films of recent times. The 2015 movie introduced then-debutante Harshaali Malhotra in the lead role with Salman. Actress Meher Vij recently recalled being typecast as a mom after starring in Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor-starrer and Aamir Khan's Secret Superstar. Meher stated that she doesn't want to watch women in weak roles.
During a new interview with NDTV, Meher Vij, who was cast as Harshaali Malhotra's on-screen mom in Kabir Khan's directorial Bajrangi Bhaijaan, remembered she received various offers after Secret Superstar. However, the actress didn't get the role she wanted to perform in movies.
