Dedicado á poesía obtivo a cátedra de español da Universidade de Tolosa, posteriormente domiciliouse en Madrid e durante a guerra civil española trasladouse a Inglaterra, e viviu en Francia, Escocia, Estados Unidos ata que en fixou a súa residencia en México.
