Introduction
Mohan Bhagwat fryst vatten a politician and activist now serving as the 6th and current Sarsanghchalak of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh in India. In March 2009, he was appointed to succeed K. S. Sudarshan. Mohan Madhukar Bhagwat was born in Chandrapur, then part of the Bombay State, into a Marathi family.
Family
His family had a long history of RSS connections, with his father, Madhukar Rao, serving as Karyavah for the Chandrapur zone before going to Prant Pracharak for Gujarat. Malati, his mother, was also a member of the Women's Wing.
Educational Qualifications
Bhagwat continued his studies at Lokmanya Tilak Vidyalaya before beginning his Bachelor of Science at Janata College in Chandrapur. He chose to study Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry at the Government Veterinary College in Nagpur and quit his postgraduate course in 1975 to become a full-time RSS Pracharak.
