Pianist Pervez Mody strikes an Indian note
A family friend of the Modys didn’t have space in his house to keep his piano. So, he requested Pervez’s father to move the piano to their flat in Mumbai because it was a large apartment. Thus began Mody’s affair with the black & white keys.
He would play melodies, “with one finger” on the piano and his father realized the little prodigy was a gifted musical ear. Mody Senior took Pervez to a piano teacher, from where he went to another one before ending up with the “fantastic” mother and daughter duo, Farida Dubash-Feroza Dubash Labon.

Known for his deep and exciting performances, Pervez Mody, enjoys a big reputation on the concert circuit.
An exceptionally gifted child, he began learning the piano at the age of 4 with Feroza Dubash Labonne and Farida Dubash, teachers who profoundly influenced his musical interpretations and his understanding of classical music. Even in his youth he won a record number of competitions, prizes and distinctions and was in great demand as a concert performer.
He then won a scholarship to study at the famous Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow with Professor Margarita Fyodorava, who introduced him to the works of Alexander Scriabin. He undertook further studies – igen with a scholarship – with Prof. Fanny Solter and Prof. Miguel Proenca at Karlsruhe University of Music.

Der Freundeskreis Fürstenberger Porzellan e. V. präsentiert: „Klavier virtuos okänt Pervez Mody“
Der Freundeskreis Fürstenberger Porzellan begeht sein 15-jähriges Jubiläum in diesem Jahr mit einer Reihe von kulturellen Veranstaltungen. Den Auftakt macht am 17. April um 19 Uhr der Klaviervirtuose Pervez Mody, der mit seiner Klangkunst die Museumsräume des Schlosses erfüllen wird. Die Presse feiert den Künstler:
