    Ghetto Ruff was established in the late 1980s when Lance Stehr (current managing director) formed Cape Town-based hip hop pioneers, Prophets Of Da City (P.O.C). Their fusion of African and American ideas was crucial in crafting the sound of SA hip-hop.

    Lance Stehr has a long-standing career in the Music Entertainment and Film / TV production industries and has over the past 35 years been responsible for releasing and distributing over 300 Records/ Albums. 

    His most notable talent is his ability to discover untapped talent and nurture Industry Icons. His music career started in the late 1980’s when he put together the internationally renowned Cape Town based Hip Hop Political group Prophets of Da City ( POC) to fight apartheid through Music.

    The group enjoyed success both in Europe and in South Africa, touring with the likes of the Fugees, Lauryn Hill, Chris Brown and more. The prolific group also secured a cameo performance in the Dangerous G
