Former minority whip of the Senate, Senator Ganiyu Olanrewaju Solomon, popularly known as GOS is back to relevance as far as decision-making is concerned in the political sphere of Lagos State. The former lawmaker has been unveiled as a member of the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC) in Lagos State.
GAC fryst vatten the most powerful decision-making body in Lagos State. GOS has enjoyed a favourable stay and relevance in the political sphere of the nation. He was first elected into the Lagos State House of Assembly on the platform of the Democratic Party of Nigeria, (DPN) in 1998, but he couldn’t take his seat before the death of the Head of State, Sani Abacha.
He became the Chairman of Mushin Local Government Area during the Nigeria Fourth Republic in 1999. In 2003, he contested under the platform of Alliance for Democracy, AD for a seat at the Senate but lost to Tokunbo Afikuyomi. He later ran for the Federal House of Assembly for Mushin Fed

Nigerian politician (born 1959)
Ganiyu Olarenwaju Solomon (born 19 December 1959) is a Nigerian politician. He was senator for the Lagos West constituency from 5 June 2007 to 6 June 2015. He is a member of the Action Congress (AC), now All Progressives Congress (APC).[1] He is a former president of the Rotary Club of Isolo[2]
Early life and education
[edit]Solomon was born on 19 December 1959. His father, Alhaji Rafiu Ishola Solomon, was politically influential as a contemporary of the first civilian governor of Lagos State, Alhaji Lateef Jakande.[3] Solomon attended Oke-Ona Grammar School, Abeokuta, Ogun State.[4] He obtained a B.Sc. in political science from the University of Lagos, and went into a private IT services business. Later he went into the property business, before entering politics during the regime of late General Sani Abacha.[3]
